same issue here !

Couldn’t remove file xyz. Action failed (6)

When trying to delete directories.

How can delete or overwrite the flash file
Because i have create mu own hotspot log in page
i am unable to load the page

Flash folder itself cannot be removed if your device has it by default. It’s a device folder, you can remove the contents. Everything stored outside of that folder is stored in ram drive.

no one is not here ?
we can delete directories .
what we must do ?

installed dude under dusk1/dude ? … instead disk1/dude ?
.
obstinate files may be removeable, when logged as admin with a sftp-client (like WinSCP) … and with circumspection :exclamation:

Hi!
Have some trouble. After same manipulations with micro SD cards can’t delete disk directories… more precisely they create again after restart. How can i delete them permanently?

  • rename existing disks to use old names
    Example:
If your file list shows disk1, disk2 and disk3 directories (where disk3 contains files of a real USB storage), you should rename it using following commands:
    Code: Select all
    /disk set 0 name=disk2
    /disk set 0 name=disk1
The order doesn’t matter, but last command should set name “disk1”. After reboot you will see only one disk directory.
Please pay attention on backup files if you want to restore previous configuration. Disk names and ID’s are also adding to binary backup file, so there’s a chance to break it again.

I have the same problem. I once used a netinstall a few months ago and after flashing a different version of RouterOS, it left this flash folder (disk) and I can’t remove it. It takes up all the space - 16MB and I can’t install new certificates due to lack of space.

…system, error, critical could not save configuration changes, not enough storage space available

The problem is same for me when I try to remove container directory from external drive. It removes around 100-300 files of container then fails. So I have to press delete for multiple ten times to actually remove it. FS is NTFS

Normally the root of storage, as accessible via File menu (or /file in CLI), is area on flash storage of router. However, on devices with less than 32MB flash (so devices with 16MBish flash) and equal to or more than 64MB RAM, the root of storage is actually in RAM disk … and the (reminder of) flash storage is available under /flash . So you don’t have to (nor want to) delete that directory.

Now, lack of flash space is nowdays mostly related to too many installed packages … e.g. routeros and wifi-qcom-ac use up almost whole flash storage and if configuration requires anything larger than bare minimum settings, it may push flash storage to the limit. Cetrificates require a few kB of space (each) and that’s not negligible on space-constrained devices.

Strange, because a few months ago I remember checking the File list and seeing that it didn’t show 0% free space and there were no files or disks there. If I remember correctly before netinstall it might have even showed 100% free space. The certificates I installed were about 250 KB (cacert.pem).

Currently I have installed these packages, about 14 MB:

# NAME VERSION BUILD-TIME SIZE
0 wireless 7.17beta4 2024-10-18 08:32:57 1924.1KiB
1 tr069-client 7.17beta4 2024-10-18 08:32:57 120.1KiB
2 routeros 7.17beta4 2024-10-18 08:32:57 11.3MiB

Log gets flooded with these messages whenever I do something, for example, “Check firmware” of LTE interface..

EDIT: I wanted to do netinstall since I read (and) it might solve this issue, but I can’t even enter etherboot..

[admin@DEV1] > /system routerboard settings set boot-device=try-ethernet-once-then-nand
failure: not allowed by device-mode
20:43:33 echo: system, error, critical could not save configuration changes, not enough storage space available.

EDIT1:Apparently this new feature can be changed (from basic to advanced mode) via:

system/device-mode/update mode=advanced

But after disconnecting device from power, the issue still persists and device mode is impossible to change to further proceed with etherboot.

EDIT2: It is also impossible to reboot due to out of storage issue.

[admin@DEV1] > /system reboot
Reboot, yes? [y/N]:

system will reboot shortly
action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)

it seems that in versions 7.17beta/rc there is some kind of problem that is actively consuming memory space

on my ac2, I successfully used 7.16rcX for several months without errors, but after updating to 7.17rc2, less than a day later, dozens of saving errors began to appear

could not save configuration changes, not enough storage space available.

of course, I went to files and saw that 0% of the space was available and 16 out of 16 were occupied, but it was obvious before that
however, it is not at all obvious why this is happening: I almost did not change the configuration and did not upload anything to the files
