Cannot set 5ghz

Hello

I have a problem and I cannot find solution to it.

I just recently bought RouterBOARD 600a + 4 Atheros 5006xs wireless mini pci cards
It seems i cannot set 5ght on band setting on wireless interface.

I tryed many solutions like changing country, I even tryed to patch eeprom memory to some other country with utility from this link: http://www.tamos.com/products/commwifi/faq.php#q75

Still no success. Card is capable, because if i stick it to Laptop or Desktop PC with miniPCI → pci adapter i can see 5ghz band working

what kind of card is it? exact model and brand

I cannot tell for sure. I bought it from ebay. It is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350027670005

Also to add im using 3.13 version of routeros + I bought custom frequency liscence.

oh yes, it’s the same card as the other poster (earlier). you have been cheated. get a decent card

Howso… I Used it in windows and Linux debian with madwifi. Both OS can go into A and Super A mode. It is same with openWRT

hmm ok, now it’s confusing. can you send a supout.rif file to support?

Hello,

The only way how the 5ghz band is not suppoted is when in the cards eeprom nothing is written about the A mode. And in this file you send us there is no info about 5ghz form the eeprom. We don’t know how Windows or Madwifi are checking the band support for the cards.

Uldis

Hmm. I just checked. Iv booted linux on one pc and intesrted that minipci card. I loaded Atheros modules and executed “dmesg” command. I can see very clearly that 5ghz A and SuperA are working just fine. By the way Windows and Madwifi are looking also at eeprom.
Also card is tested on 433AH routerboard, It works!

thats wrong, madwifi and the windows-driver do definitely not look in the eeprom. you got a card with a wrong eeprom, as i wrote in the other thread also, refund it and buy something working.
