Problem:
Cannot update/overwrite file on tftp-server?
Description:
I’m setting up a Zyxel GS2200-48 with dhcp-snooping. The dhcp-snooping feature saves it’s information to an external tftp-server,
for use when rebooted. Since I’m planning to use a mikrotik router/firewall, I tried setting up the tftp-server on that.
Since the switch must update the dhcp-snooping information, it needs to update/overwrite the file every 5 minutes. There’s no problem creating the file,
but when trying to update/overwrite it, I get an “Error code: 6 string:file exist”.
Does anyone know, if it’s at all possible to give permission to update/overwrite a file in tftp?
“Currently tftp server in RouterOS confirms with RFC and does not allow to rewrite existing file returning error code 6 - file already exist.
We will evaluate your request to add the feature, but i cannot promise that it will be implemented.”
Are there any plans to implement overwriting files via TFTP?
I try to provision VoIP-phones with RouterOS’ DHCP/NTP/TFTP and these phones need to update/overwrite certain files.
But routerOS simply rejects these attemts with error code: 6
Hi.
Any news on uploading any file with TFTP to MT-RouterBoard ?
I see an option in WinBox, which says: Read Only. I unticked this, but I can’t upload anything to the routerboard. Error message:
“tftp,error ERROR code:6 string:file exists”
So how should I configure my routerboard if I want to upload some (config) file in it ?
