I have a mikrotik wifi routerboard (RB952Ui-5ac2nD, OS v6.47.9) and windows 10 family (1909) on an asus E202SA laptop.
I also tried with OS v6.48.1, same issue.
I am currently in battle mode with my WL-WN688U3D usb adapter (realtek 8812au) i bought yesterday.
I also have the same issue with the builtin realtek 8821ae.
The issue is that it looses wifi connexion after some times (can be 5min or 5hours),
and cannot connect back (until rebooting computer and reset wifi config and so on).
To make it work for now, i found recently a working workaround
by changing 20/40/80Mhz Ceee to 20/40Mhz Ce on 5Ghz config on router side.
What can u recommend me to do please ? I want if possible to use 80Mhz option too.
I am not too far from a local airport, maybe this explain why it started to happen suddenly ? I read about some channel range being reserved for that now.
do not hesitate if you need more info to assist me.
I dont know what to share yet.
It’s hard to fix realtek problems on mikrotik … other than configuring mikrotik such that realtek works (e.g. changing channel width to 20/40 if that’s what makes realtek happy).
Can you please share the export (use i.e. putty): /export hide-sensitive
And don’t forget to configure the wireless interfaces completely (including setting country code, but also: fixed channel/WAPA2-AES only)
how to configure the wireless interfaces completely (including setting country code, but also: fixed channel/WAPA2-AES only) ?
i do not know which country to put…
i live on an island in the middle of the pacific (new caledonia not listed), so do i put france or new zealand or australia, i am not sure,
and my provider did not put any (router config was done by my provider)…
I tried a fixed channel like 5745 in 20/40/80 Ceee, but i thik i still have some issues.
also where can i force WPA2-AES only plz ?
did not see your reply mkx earlier, thx a lot too.
the strange thing is that realtek 8812au is certified 80Mhz capable,
so i dont understand why i have to disable 80Mhz on my router for the wifi card to work…
i just put a wifi region in quick set menu (like france), and no more realtek instability in 80Mhz now…
i also updated windows 10 to latest (20h2), in case it helped too…
