I recently bought Mikrotik Omnitik U-5HnD but cannot use it as the WiFi AP.
The SSID which I defined on the Mikrotik does not appears.
The wlan1 interface shows as “Inactive” and Port Role is “Disabled Port” under the
Bridge-Ports. See attached picture.

I have upgraded Mikrotik to the v6.5, reseted it to the Factory Defaults, wireless
Package is instaled and enabled but no results.
Is it a bug or misconfiguration. Please post your suggestions. Thnx in advance

Hi,
Just because nobody’s connected… Connect a client and the interface will be running…
Best Regards…
I cannot connect - the SSID does not appears. I also tried to create network profile manually on Windows 7 machine. This usually works if the SSID is hidden. But not this time. No results so far.
Sure that your device (notebook/ipad…or whatelse) can connect in band of 5Ghz?
Or are only 2Ghz?
Not sure. I will check it. But this means that Omnitik U-5HnD can not be used as real full fledged AP cause the most of the devices works mainly on 2.4 GHz. Is this correct?
check the Status tab to see on what frequency the interface is running.
Frequency is 5180. I found it in the Wireless Tab
this is a 5ghz ap, you need a 2.4 ghz ap.
This is a 5GHz device. If your devices only support 2GHz, you need a different model. Omnitik doesn’t work in 2GHz
