Canopy and Mikrotik can they work together?

Hi all,
I have a new WISP in town who is going to use Canopy in the 5ghz sprectrum. Thankfully he is a professional and has contacted me to discuss frequencies to limit interference. From what I read I believe the Canopy will trash 80211a in either the top or bottom half of the spectrum and is vertically polarised. Can anybody please confirm this and tell me of their experience with working alongside canopy. My APS are all H pol. I need to know the minimun channel seperation that canopy and 80211a have successfully worked together.

I have lots of experience with Canopy. All the 5Ghz integrated AP’s are vertical polarized, and all the 900 stuff is horizontal.

15Mhz Channel Width
Realibility is good but the throughput can be easily exceeded on 900Mhz (AP can only do 4Mbps aggregrate)

Thanks wispwest. That is usefull info.

However what I really need to know is how the Canopy is going to effect my 80211a Network and best practice to avoid getting trashed by the canopy signal

The Canopy Guy has a x4 cluster sat very close to my tower

what model of canopy are?, i see the canopy works at frecuency 5725 to 5825mhz @ 30db, you can use the low band in 5Ghz from 5.125 to 5.6Ghz for example, in the high band only can use 3 channels because the bandwith is 22mhz. some models of canopy are ofdm and others are cck modulation.

I will get the binos out and see if I can get more info

Thanks

We have been using several canopy 5.8 AP’s running behind a mikrotik rb450g (pppoe server) with excellent results for a year now. CPE’s are nano station 5’s

works great. I have pppoe users with sessions over 80 days old. I would have to sell my soul to the devil to get that kind of stability in 2.4.
