can't access the internet when many pppoe users are disconnected

hello, I’m getting some problems when many pppoe users(more than 40 user) are disconnected simultaneously (because the fiber optic cable is broken or due to a blackout) router2-pppoe server (CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+) seems unable to forward packets to router1-gateway (CCR1036-12G- 4S), in the log on router 2 there is only information that pppoe is disconnected, at that time the router cpu usage was in the range of 20% -30%, I tried increasing the MTU to 5000, but it still happened.

I don’t know where the problem is.

The machine that does PPPoE doesn’t have to do NAT as well. You have to divide the task between multiple machines.

You will find (if you search) discussions about it already present on the forum, without continuing this one unnecessarily.

Changing the MTU randomly doesn’t fix anything.
Instead, make sure that PPPoE clients have an MTU of 1500, not 1480 or 1492.
