Can't browse from clients connected to router

Hello,
I have configured my Mikrotik router and both interfaces are on and working. I have basic connectivity from my router to my local network and to my ISP’s gateway. However, the clients connected to the router cannot browse. what else do i need to do to make them browse? Do i need to configure the dns’s given to me by the ISP on Mikrotik or what?
Please advise
Thank you

Assuming your clients can ping external IPs then your comms are ok. You need to do some or all of these things;

  1. If using PPPOE, then click the ‘Use Peer DNS’ option

or

  1. Configure the DNS manually in /ip/DNS

then

  1. Click the option ‘Allow Remote Requests’

then

  1. Configure your DHCP scope options to use the Router’s IP as the DNS server

This should work.

Thanks for your tips,
A little explanation would seem to shed better light. From my mikrotik router, i can hit the Public Interface via Ping but i cannot ping the modem connecting me to the Internet. I have used Crossover cables from the Modem to the interface, nothing… I have connected from the interface via straight cable to a hub and then from the modem to the hub too via straight cable also.
I think i have the configuration pat but this part is really getting me stumped.
Please advise
Thank you

Greetings!

Did you set a masquerade rule in firewall nat? In command line:
/ip firewall nat add chain=srcnat action=masquerade out-interface=ether1
