Can't change IP address on MirkroTik Wireless Wire

Hey there fellow network players.

I just got myself a pair of MikroTiks W60G to extend my LAN to a barn nearby.
I changed the standard address of the station bridge device successfully to one
of my LAN ip addresses, however, if I try the same in the QuickSet menu of the
other device (bridge), it always jumps back to the original 192.168.88.2 address
when I hit the apply button. I have no clue what causes this. Device runs v6.45.9,
tried it via web gui and the latest WinBox version, but no avail.

Do it on IP → addresses.

Make sure to maintain updated your RouterOS version.

thanks a lot for your input! I was able to set the IP address via the way you mentioned it,
and after I set a DNS server both devices were updated to the latest v6.48.1 firmware.
