I’ve just purchased brand new Mikrotik hAP ac2 and I’m facing some problems with the initial setup.
First, when I turn it on and connect to ethernet cable from my provider, hAP ac2 doesn’t broadcast any default wireless network. Then, I’ve tried to connect to the router via cable. I got connected, but 192.168.88.1 host doesn’t respond. Instead, I can connect to 192.168.0.1. At this point, I had to enter some login and password but anything default like admin\admin or no login\password do not work.
I’ve tried to reset the router to factory settings by pressing res/wps button at power up and holing it until the led light started flashing but it didn’t help.
Any suggestions on how can I make it work?
Downlaod winbox software (https://www.mikrotik.com/download). Then connect your hAp Ac2 to your pc from second LAN port ( not the WAN Port). run winbox, On running fill " connect to " as 192.168.88.1 and login as admin, there is no password( Blank). it will open the router settings when you click " connect". You can select “quick set” to finish the initial setup (wireless etc).
