I’m trying to set up two APs as a Point-to-Point bridge and whenever I change the devices’ IP address, I cant connect back to it. I’ve gone through the instructions on the wiki and nothing works. I’ve changed it the following ways:
Quick set
IP Address menu for the bridge interface
IP address menu for the ethernet interface
Nothing I do works. I also just updated the routeros to the latest and greatest.
These addresses must be in same broadcast domain. Is that true? If can’t do this on running system, then use “Safe mode” or configure IP from mac-telnet connection, without IP connectivity.
The admin user has nothing in the allowed fields but when I changed it to my computers IP address, I still couldnt connect. Does it need something in that field?
i have same problem. my internet provider have changed my public ip address, netmask and gateway:
address was 57.91.28.42, new 57.91.20.199
netmask 255.255.255.224, new 255.255.255.0
gw 57.91.28.42, new 57.91.20.1
(i changed some digits for security)
i replaced them from webfig (from inside thru wifi) and webfig freeze. i tried reconnect from ssh and from winbox (with cable) - not connecting (timeout), but have ping from inside to internal and external ip addresses, dhcp works but no internet (now i reconfigured my old computer with linux to have internet)…now winbox not detecting RouterBOARD 951Ui-2HnD by mac, cant connect by ip too… not tried from outside…
latest firmware and ruter os 6.43.8 stable (now i see that there is newer…)
