Can't connect to HAP Ac2 after full reset, NetInstall was Ok, Still No connection

Hi,

I reset the router using the 5 secs to erase the existing config. I tried 5 times the result was that the router was coming back with the same IP schema 192.168.2.1 and not the default one
Then I used the 30-30-30 method, now the router has the two lights on constantly On. Tried Netinstall and the Router board was found, I followed the instructions to install Router Os
The Process finished with a ready next to router model on NetInstall ( I didn’t see any bar progress), I power cycle the router and changed the Eth to Dhcp no IP Assigned ( I tried static 192.168.88.10/24) and it doesn’t show up on the Winbox and the 2 lights ( Power and USR) are still On, I tried the NetInstall 10 times .. the same result, I’m stuck right now

Using windows 10 and a USB Eth adapter

Any Help is going to be Appreciated

Thank you

Connect via MAC address!

If you haven’t seen the progress bar to do anything, the netinstall actually hasn’t installed the software.

I had the same experience on my previous laptop, and the remedy was to wait until the router appeared in the target list, then exit netinstall and run it again. Once the router appeared in the target list again, the installation went properly. On my current laptop this exercise is not necessary.

Hi Again,

I resolved the issue of changing Laptop
Used a Macbook pro 2012 with embedded ethernet port and Winbox 32Bit on Windows 10 Pro 64bit ( Not used the USB3 to Eth cable I have), It was on NetInstall guide and I oversee it
It worked fine and the router is working again as it supposed to

My question is how you reset only the config not to erase the OS of the router … the 5 secs pres of the reset button after you power cycle is not working. … or I cant do it

Thanks for your comments

If you can log in, /system reset-configuration works.
If you cannot, it’s not exactly 5 seconds, it’s until the USER LED (ACT) starts flashing.
