Can't connect to my brand new RB951G-2HnD

Hi!

I just bought a RB951G-2HnD and I was going throughout this guide: //skipping all the overclocking and complicated stuff, I just wanted to configure a wireless AP.

I did the:
Remove Configuration.System->Reset Configuration → No Default Configuration

Now I am trying to connect via eth2 (and eth1) ports, but winbox can’t connect.

192.168.88.1 does not responed to ping too. //error: destination host unreachable.

Notes:

  1. Resetting via “reset button” does not seem to help.
  2. I did not do any of the other steps in guide.

Please advice.

If you remove the default configuration there is no more 192.168.88.1 on the device.
You need to connect with winbox, but connect to the device’s mac address to do some initial configuration.

You may not have done the reset correctly.

  1. remove power
  2. hold reset button in and reapply power while continuing to hold power button in
  3. after about 5 seconds the ACT light will begin to flash. Release the button and let the router reboot.

When you access it with Winbox you should be given the option of keeping the default configuration or removing it. This will happen after every reset.
