Can't downgrade RB1100AHX2 to ROS 6.20

Hey everyone,

I want to test something with the ROS 6.20 powerpc for the RB1100AHx2. After I installed it i got a kernel panic message and I had to reinstall to a newer version of ROS. I tested more versions and I can only install until version 6.24. Earlier versions can’t be installed. I also tried to install 5.26 but this didn’t work too. The version the RB1100AHx2 was shipped was 6.29.1. Why can I not install versions earlier than 6.24?

try netinstal

The whole time I am trying the installation with netinstall. It seems, that the Routerboard is too new for a version earlier than 6.24. Is there any conflict with the revision of the Routerboard?

what firmware version has the unit ?

It was delievered with the ROS version 6.29.1 and the firmware 3.22

It isn’t also possible to downgrade the firmware to version 3.18.

Hello,
i have the same issue. After upgrade ROS to v6,33 i can’t downgrade it to any version. In console routerboard show information, that newer version of the software is installed. When i try install older version of ROS by net install RB stop booting and show kernel panic in console.
