Can any one help me in finding the ip address of my Mikrotik RB333 because i configured it from where i bought it and i dont know how to access the router .Pls anyone help me out in this matter.
Use winbox
WinBox can usualy “Find” a routerOS device and present a way go “get to it”.
The device needs to be on the same subnet.
You can get Winbox via the demo routers at MikroTik.com.
When you click on the link to “play” with the demo routers, you will be prompted to run or download winbox and the winbox “loader”.. the “loader is the key here” choode DOWNLOAD / SAVE whrn prompted.
Save the application to the desktop.
close the internet brouser and launch the loader.
There is a text box near the top of the application that is requesting the Address of the RouterOS device.
Next to the address box there is a button… (on the right).. click it and it will display a list of RouterOS devices that
Winbox Loader has discovered. You can eather connect to the device via the IP or the MAC address.
The IP address wil provide a more stable connection..
I would somply write down the IP address of the device and enter it in the address field on the loader..
supply the user and password (usualy admin and " " (or blank / empty / no password)) and press connect…
You whould connect to the device and winbox will open…
YOu may want to try ether1 first, as it us usualy assigned an IP first..
I usualy configure ether1 as my WAN / but it can be configured ANY WAY YOU WANT…
It is EXTREAMLY flexable, but yiu MUST know what you are doing or the flexibility will drive you to drink !!!
I dont know your experiance level, but a trainig class if HIGHLY recomended… even for CCIEs as RouterOS is NOT IOS… Thank God !!!
Thanks csickles will try it as you said
