Can't get 25g ports to come up on CCR2004 when upgrading to V7

We have two CCR2004s in production, both on V6 and connected with 25g Sfp28s. These ones specifically https://www.fs.com/products/85125.html?attribute=12162&id=359194

This setup works great, however, when we try and move one of the routers to V7 we can not get the 25g link to come back up. 10gig links work fine on other ports, but the one 25g link is no go no matter what we do. The dbm settings are within their normal range. Also tried forcing link negotiation, but no luck there either.

We rolled the router back to V6 and everything works great again. Any ideas?

try different fec modes, had to set mine to fec91 to get it working using 25G. (Interface → SFP Tab → FEC Mode).

Awesome thanks for the info! Will give this a shot. I wonder if I will have to have both routers on V7 and adjust the FEC to work or can the other router still be on V6?

can’t tell, my CCR2004 is connected to a HPE FF 5945. But if I had to guess, it should work with the other CCR still running v6.

I have two CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS that I connected via a 25G DAC. With 7.2 on one and 6.47 on the other, they wouldn’t link up.
I reset both to defaults and upgraded them to 7.6. After that, the SFP28 link came up on its own without any special config.
I was preparing them for a lab configuration, so I haven’t tested any other versions of 7.

I don’t remember the default setting of fec mode, if it’s auto, maybe it just works when both devices are running V7 and if they are connected to a Mikrotik Router running V6 or another vendor, manual adjustment of this parameter is required. Just a wild guess.

We will try it tomorrow morning. I will post up and let you know the results.

The result of the test?

Yep it worked great, no issues now.
