Try as I may, I cannot get R52N’s to do 40MHz. I’ve got 2 antenna’s hooked up to them. I’ve tried basically all the combinations possible on the ht chains. I’ve enabled the HT extension channel. I’ve tried changing the HT Guard Interval to long. And I’ve tried numerous settings with N-streme enabled and none of these combinations showed up as 40MHz on my WiSpy. Is there something I’m missing here or can they not do 40MHz correctly?
I’ve read a lot of negative comments on the R52N cards but I actually managed to configure it to work. It is a 7km link with link connection of rx243mb/tx243mb. It fluctuates a bit between 160mb-243mb but I’m completely happy with it and impressed. The voice applications are also working 100% with ccq of 76/78. We are using it for two-way radios, CCTV, IP phones, email, sap, internet, etc. I used the Routerboard 433ah with router os 4.4.
No, I’m not using NStreme as it is not stable. Still waiting for the update release for ver4.4. At this stage I am very happy with the performance with the links. Just for the backbone I am using 4 29DBI Grid Antennas and two R52N cards at each side. Link2 acts as a fail-over.
yes, you’re 100% correct, nothing fancy about config…straight forward as you can get. If you’re antenna’s are aligned correclty and your signal strenght is at least more less than -65 and ccq tx90-100 and rx 90-100, r52n should run smoothly. All the best with your links.
