I have a Mikrotik box set up on ethernet network. No wireless.
The box passes data fine. I have an outgoing PPP connection from the box which works fine. I can SSH into the box fine.
When I use tools->ping and try ANY ip address it times out…?
Why?

Also inner network addresses or just outer network addresses? Can it ping itself?
check your firewall settings, maybe there are some filters, some limitations set against icmp protocol
I can ping internal addresses fine.
No firewall rules blocking ICMP.
Yes it can ping itself. I can ping the public address from the WAN side.
try to add static ARP and disable arp and enable back. we have the same issue on WAN port but unfortunately there is no reply from mikrotik.
I have fedora server in parallel with mikrotik ROS and it works fine in pinging LAN and WAN at the same time.
