Can't use 80+80 or 160MHz WiFi channels

Hello everyone,

I’m using the latest ROS and a L009UiGS as CapsMan that manages 3x hapAX3.
However, if I choose 80+80 or 160 MHz channels (in 2 or 5GHz range) then I will get the message “no supported channels” in the WiFi overview.

According to other people in this forum, this problem can have two root causes:

  • wrong country
  • wrong installation type (any/outdoor instead of indoor)

My country supports 160 MHz bands according to Wikipedia, but unfortunately I’m unable to find the “installation” property within the CapsMan or the WiFi interface (looked it up in terminal and WebFig). In the Mikrotik documentation (https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/CAPsMAN) the property is perfectly mentioned, but it seems to have vanished in the latest releases.

Is there something I could do or that I missed? Could it even be a bug in RouterOS/WiFi?

Could it be related to a certification issue (http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/audience-in-usa-160mhz-wlan3/138984/1)?

HAP AX³ supports a maximum channel width of 80 MHz.

Currently none of the AX-devices support 160MHz wide channels.

Thank you all for the update! Are there any news when new devices that support 160 MHz channels or even WiFi 7 802.11be will be available?

This one supports 160mhz

i think maybe in wifi7 devices support for 160mhz will be mandatory, 320mhz will be the optional scarce feature in wifi7, as with 160mhz in wifi 5, is supported on rare devices
