I am having some issues enabling 5G on my CAP devices, so far CAP devices are registered and able to see them in the CAP-interface, however the state it comes in is inactive.
Right now Fortigate firewall is doing L3 and we are just bridging all the traffic from the capsman to the firewall for traffic management so the capsman only provides the SSID configuration. (attached the network topology)
Also attaching our Capsman configuration.
If anyone has faced this issue before that could guide us.
If you’re referring to state of wireless interface (and in conjunction with it as bridge port), then status “not running” indicates that no wireless stations are connected. When first wireless station connects, wireless interface transitions into “running” - consequently associated bridge port becomes active (and xSTP magic starts to happen … which is the only issue I see with the whole ordeal). And when the last station disconnects, interface state transitions back to “not running” (and associated bridge port to inactive).
For whatever reason, mikrotik doesnt like that two independant radio signals have different wpa2-psk passwords.
So right now we have two SSIDs, one for Teachers and the other for Students, one in 2.4 and the other in 5, but cannot have different passwords for the SSID.
Also it allows connection if its not encrypted (either one) but for whatever reason it doesnt support two different passwords.
Leaving this as a solution if someone ever comes about this issue.
