CAP AC disables 5G after some time

Hi,

I have a 1009 running CAPS-MAN controlling a CAP AC. I have provisioned some 2.4G networks and 5G networks. Everything works fine for some weeks, but suddenly I can then notice that all the 5G SSIDs are no longer there. By disabling CAPS-MAN and enabling it again, everything now works. So far I have not seen anything in the logs.

Anyone else seen this issue before ? It is quite annoying as that is my only issue currently with Mikrotik Wifi.

Your SSIDs are not there, but what does the log say about that? Certainly there is something…

Also when you cant see your SSIDs, can you see the 5Ghz configuration provisioned under capsman or not?

Is the cap wireless controlled by capsman when the SSID is missing?

Yes, I’ve seen it before. Please check: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/capsman-and-cap-ac2-5ghz-stops-working-without-any-log-message/129977/18

First I didn’t use capsman anymore, now I use a HAP AC with capsman to get rid of the problem with my CAP AC and capsman. The problem might be solved though with the latest firmware (or is device/hardware related), I didn’t test yet.

My hAP AC2 + cAP AC has the same problem, the 5GHz on hAP will disappear after my iPhone roam, and nothing was logged. I’ve noticed the wireless interfaces show Master and Slave together, so what I did is I remove all the wireless interfaces in bridge and let the CAPsMAN to add it dynamically, this problem gone.

I use capsman all the time… cant confirm such a problem with 5GHz…
Most recently, yesterday i provisioned 4 SSIDs on a CAP AC… no problems at all…

Bad configuration i might guess

The log only says this : A8:BB:CF:11:11:11@5GTAN_GUEST_VPN-CAP-Stuen-1 disconnected, received disassoc: sending station leaving (8)
But it seems that also happens at other times.

Also when you cant see your SSIDs, can you see the 5Ghz configuration provisioned under capsman or not?

I can see the 5G procisioned under the capsman and the registered cap is also recognized as with 2 radios

Is the cap wireless controlled by capsman when the SSID is missing?

The cap wireless is still controlled by capsman when the SSID is missing.

It could be bad configuration…

Could be this issue, try the latest beta:
