cAP ac issue switching to bridge mode

Hi all,

I have cAP ac that has been lying around for few years since I bought it. I actually bought two and I use one actively (WISP AP, bridge mode). I don’t remember any issues configuring that one. It normally gets IP from dhcp (on mikrotik router) and serves network traffic via two wlans. I use only eth1 with POE.

Now the second cAP ac I can not make to work properly no matter what I do. I did a hard reset (5 sec power on button holding until blinking starts) and that makes the AP visible on network and web interface working. It is in router mode: lan side is my local lan range 192.168.0.0 and wifi side is 192.168.88.0.

So, now I change (in quick set web interface) mode from router to bridge and BANG - can’t access AP anymore, neither via web, nor winbox (neither mac nor ip). I can still ping it in lan range, I can still connect to its wifi and use it as ap, but there’s no way I can configure it. IP is there, winbox doesn’t connect to it, ssh also, web unreachable.
The only thing I can do is perform reset and start all over. A some point I upgraded it (from 6.x) to 7.14.3 while in router mode, then did again reset and tried to switch to bridge mode, but still the same thing.

Since I have a good working configuration on the first AP, can I somehow just copy it to second one? I tried doing a backup on one and restoring it to another, but that just “bricked” it so I had to do a reset once more.

Thank you,
Bruno
