cAP ax performance and problems

Does cAP AX 80+80Mhz width?
Mine is always end up with «no supported channels»

No surprise there, I don’t even understand the question… why should cap ?
Serious, you may want to rephrase or clarify that question. Doesn’t make any sense.

Sorry. Mistyped. Updated. I was talking about 80+80 channel width.

What do you mean by free area here?

You cant use 80+80 on cap ax, or any ax device at this point.

Do a frequency scan with radio 1 and see which frequencies are free, if any.

just to express my dissatisfaction with Mikrotik devices.
Namely, I have been playing with Mikrotik OS since 2005. while i installed it on old computers with wireless cards and made our own nodes on which i have mounted hand-made antennas… bikvad to corner antennas… (cheep wireless network)

so playing long time with Mikrotik.
I have installed over the past 19 years over hundreds of different mikrotik devices, from Haplite to CRS-routers. I can’t say that there were no problems, but somehow I managed to solve it all.
I was disappointed in many devices but also pleasantly surprised in others

but this with wifi6 devices is too much.

all devices with wifi6 cards are TOO EXPENSIVE RUBBISH.
first i sow this when instaling starlink.. from starlink router over wifi6 i get 280mbps speedtest.. Mikrotik connected directly to Starlink router, wifi6 speed 160mbp…

currently I have CAP ax, configured as AP, all interfaces are bridged with dhcp client (nothin else, open network), device is connected to 1Gbps network, trying to download from server one file, speed 112mbps… on chep tplink from same switch same file …560mps speed.

it is not easy to throw 19. years of experience in building networks with Mikrotik just to change now to TPLink…

And after 19 years you decided to create an account just to post this message…sure.

And the fun part: he says is switching to TPlink, which gives roughly 500mbps throughput on a 1gbit link. well, the next bad decision in life ahead. Better find a vendor with AP which is capable to nearly fully utilize the 1gbit link. It is possible with wifi6.

This is what I get from the AX3, my WAN speeds are 670/670mbps

tnx on your post, glad to hear that there is hardware of mikkrotik that can brake more than 200mb speed on wifi.
i newer tried AX3 but will try to get one. If that disappoint again… than i give up.

ty again.

Wall mounted cAP AX running 7.17beta2, didn’t bother getting of the couch to get any closer to the accesspoint(which will improve speed).
Configured very basic with CAPsMAN. As client I’m using the Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 using driver version 23.70.2.3.

When testing using internal iperf server, I frequently see 700-ish on AX devices.

Mikrotik hAP AC2 to CRS328-24P+4S-RM on to XV2-21x.
