Hello Mikrotik Community,
I administer a remote network with one hAP ax3, a CRS112-8P-4S and two cAP ax. To expand wireless coverage and capacity I’ve ordered two more cAP ax and send them directly to the remote site to be installed (did not made any initial configuration). Via zerotier I’ve got full winbox access to everything already installed there. The two new cAP’s are connected to CRS112-8P-4S via eth1, POE powered and assigned with IP addresses from the DHCP server thats is active on the hAP ax3 bridge interface. Keep in mind that the cAP ax has the user “admin” pre-configured with a password that it is printed on a sticker on each device. Tried to SSH, telnet, mac-telnet them with the default printed credentials, no luck. Switched just one on to avoid the pre-configured 192.168.88.1 IP address conflict with each other, no luck. Tried to access via telnet and mac-telnet the already installed cAPs (that have a second user active and the “admin” user disabled), all good. Another weird thing is those two new cAP ax are not in the neighbour list (both on hAP ax3 and CRS112-8P-4S). Am I missing something? All this time I was able to send new devices to my clients and remotely configure them hustle free. IMO it’s the pre-configured “admin” user password that messes things up. Any suggestions, cause the remote site is 3 hours driving to the nearest port and another 2,5 hours via ferry.
TIA for your responses.
Connect first on ether2.
Then enable romon.
Default all incoming access will be blocked on ether1.
