we have hundreds of devices and need to be managed by the amazing CAPsMAN, the problem is that we can’t tell what are the devices connected to manager, neither the “Remote CAP” nor the “Interfaces” show the device identity (/system identity), its showing now as MAC Address. is there anyway to show the (/system identity) for the devices connected to the CAPsMAN ??
The only solution I’ve found for this at this point is to compare the MAC addresses of each device to those listed in IP->Neighbors and rename them (or comment, but that doesn’t seem to be working) to match what you have for their Identity.
Yes, there is.
The only way to show the CAP identity is to make full use of certificates.
Once they do their DTLS handshake with certificates, you’ll see the remote identities.
thanks for your reply, i did used the certificates .. on CAPsMAN: auto/auto and Require Peer Certificate …on CAP: Certificate request and Lock to CAPsMAN .. everything was running smooth but still i can’t see the CAP Identity
This is gonna be tough … too many routers over 150 and its impossible to keep track of them like that we need something more efficient, but this is still an option if no proper solution found.
We will think about this. We could show in the Remote-CAP section the system identity of the CAP. The only problem is about the naming as we have already the identity name used in that menu.

It would be nice if the system identity also showed in the Registration Table under CAPsMAN
