Is there a trick to installing the wifiwave2 package on the cAP XL AC’s? I have 10 of these AP’s in production and when trying to install this package, I get the error it’s being omitted due to lack of space.
Any help/tricks to this would be greatly appreciated. All the AP’s at the present moment are running 7.10. I went back as far as 7.1 trying to install this package all with the error that I don’t have enough space.
cAP XL AC does not support wifiwave2 package as it is now, so don’t even bother.
Theoretically the wifi chip does support wifiwave2 but as you already found out by yourself, there is not enough space to host the complete package.
Now, if somewhere in future they would slim down that package, that would be another story …
It appears however it’s an all or nothing package, not much MT does with that package.
But we keep hoping … might also be useful for AC2, cAP AC and some others using IPQ4018 chip for wifi.
I’m always amused when I see a just joined self-prophesied know-it-all, dismiss someone with much heritage on the forum and someone always so reasonable.
I think the pricks problem may be a lack of literacy combined with an overblown ego.
Looking at this page of facts… https://mikrotik.com/products/group/wireless-for-home-and-office
Its quite clear there is only
cAP ax ( 228 x 48 mm )
cAP LX ac (Dimensions 191 x 42 mm)
Someone should prend une douche to clean the stench off them
Well, that’s the problem with “just joined”: they don’t have time to assess the ecosystem and don’t see who’s “always so reasonable”. Alas, the number of posts doesn’t necessarily tell any story, @anav and I are prime examples
While you are in here racking up your posts per day, I’m out actually doing. Funny how you are basing someones expertise in this field by how many Mikrotik forum posts they have.
Just to make things straight: @anav is pretty helpful, he did save the day of many forum users. But he does it his own way (yup, he’s sometimes sort of an a*hole and does post more frequently than strictly necessary). Otherwise he’s a nice guy.
