Hello!
I have succesfully connected to a RB3011 some APs using CAPsMAN.
The wireless works perfectly, all the devices connected to the APs are surfing.
The APs themselves, however, are not connected to the internet. They can ping only the router, and the update tool say there is no internet connection.
What I have to check to allow the device reacing the outside world and update?
Thank you very much!
What's type of access points and I guess somebody is currently typing "Upload router config"... I assume you're able to access the APs via WinBox? If so, I'd check IP/DHCP client/Status and check the access point has valid IP details esp. DNS:
BTW - if you're using CAPsMAN, there is a feature to automatically update the access points centrally. If the access points are the same CPU architecture as the access points, once enabled, all you do is update the router and the access points update from the router's packages. Slightly more complicated if their different architectures. You have to update the NPK update package to the router before updating router.
But if very few access points, manual update is pretty quick as well.
Or if CAPsMAN doesn't have all the packages installed. E.g. my CAPsMAN is ARM device without wireless (actually it has wireless hardware but I choose not to have wifi-qcom-ac package installed) ... but my CAPs are both AC and AX devices, so they either require wifi-qcom-ac or wifi-qcom packages.
The good thing is that package files can be stored on USB flash so usually there's no problem about lack of disk space.
