CapsMan AP limit [ANSWER: unlimited]

Hi everyone, what number of APs can handle by one CapsMan, and what about resources consuming. For example; can i manage 500 Aps with one Caps Manager.(what kind of router to make this) Thank you.

Sorry my English.

CapsMan has this limitations:

32 Radios per CAP
32 Virtual interfaces per master radio interface

More info: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:CAPsMAN

Thank you maximan, i am read wiki already but actually i cant understand. 32 is maximum managed AP per capsman is it right ?

EDIT: my fault for read fast. 32 for vAp and Radio. NOT AP.

Thank you maximan. I think too low for many hotel projects.

NO.

Manual Says about “Radios per CAP” (number of WLAN interfaces on each CAP Access Point) and “Virtual interfaces per master radio interface” (Virtual Access Points on each CAP).

It doesn’t say anything about MAX Number of CAPs.

On the Following image you can se a CAPsMAN with 963 CAP interfaces (about 320 Access Points and 640 Virtual interfaces) with no problem.

Thank you Liodakis , this is good news. Does CapsMan package use alot of resources? What kind of router do you use? Can CapsMan and Cap be on a different location? I mean, on different Layer 2 segment (like MPLS)? It says it is possible on Wiki but I couldn’t see any example (port, protocol etc.). I tried to match CapsMan and Cap on two different ppoe line but I couldn’t.

Correct answer is “unlimited”. Only depends on network speed.

Thank you Normis. I wish your had written in wiki. Quick update: I managed finally match Cap and CapsMan over pppoe (my fault of course) But there are problems here : Cap without Capsman. If Caps is lost the connection somehow, SSID broadcats is turned off. This stuation is normal ?
