CAPsMAN Broken With 5Ghz AC?

Hey All,

I have been testing CAPsMAN and have found some interesting problems. I’m using a cAP AC with both the router and AP on 6.46.2

  1. When configuring 5Ghz, there is no option for setting the channel bandwidth to 80Mhz? there is only 5Mhz, 10Mhz, 20Mhz and 40Mhz Turbo (If you select 40Mhz Turbo, the cap interface shows “no supported channel” in red.
  2. When configuring 5Ghz, if you select A/N, all works fine. If you select anything with AC (even AC only) the wireless SSID cannot be seen. Have tested with Iphone 10, 6 and Android.

If I test configuring the CAP2 not via CAPsMAN (directly on the AP), both the AC issue and setting the 80Mhz problem goes away (Works fine).

Anyone else seen the same issues?

Thanks

Alan Scott

  1. Set the Control Channel Width to 20MHz
  2. Set Extension Channel to Ceee (for 80MHz) or lower for 40MHz or 20MHz

With these settings you will be able to use ac.

Here is a good read: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:CAPsMAN#Channel_Groups

For 5 Ghz, just do not set anything besides frequency and band on channel settings
