CAPSMAn handshake failure

Hi,
I have running here a CAPSMAN system with an CRS125 as master and some wAP and cAP as client. All works perfectly.

Now I tried the same on a second location again, also CRS125 as master and wAP and cAP Lite as clients. But it wont work.
CAP Client tries to connect to CRS125 but alway receives an handshake error (6).

All units have same soft- and firmware… 6.45.7.
We have resettet the clients and tried again, without success.
Timestamp on all systems is ok.

The Master has been built up from scratch. There are no firewall rules except NAT for internet access.
The curious thing is, that it worked perfect, before the master router (crs125) had to be built up again because of a lost login password.
Andy ideas?

Try not to use discovery interfaces and instead use the capsman address field…
Also just for testing do not request any certificate…

Hi, thanks for answering. Actually, I found a solution. But I didn’t understand it.

Normally it was possible to connect a CAP and then to configure them with configuration sets. But it didn’t worked.
Then I made a configuration set ready and tried again.
Now the CAP could connect to CAPSMAN Master without any problem.

I don’t understand it. It worked before the other way. Does anything changed?

You do not provide any details at all…!
You just say i did a configuration and it didn’t work, then i made another configuration and it worked…

How can possibly someone tell you what is wrong ?

Well, you can read it again

I made it as usual. I didn’t know that there are different ways to use the capsman … well the basic configuration is always the same.

Activating CAPSMAN on both master and client with the needed options. And both would normally find each other …

The thing is, this worked before, without making a configuration set. After activating the cap was visible in capsman master.
It did not as mentioned in first post, there was only a handshake failure.

The only thing that has been changed before it worked, I have added a configuration set. After I added it, master and client talked together. Before, they didn’t wanted to talk to each other…

Well I will try this again in a testing environment this evening. So maybe I can tell you more …

Well, you can read it again >

I made it as usual.

There is no configuration named “usual” so i do not know what that is…

You should provide an export of capsman and cap…
