causes of connecting poe output ports to other non-poe devices

Hi

I have a CRS328-24P-4S+RM, with POE output, I can connect these ports normally to other ports that are not POE, please help me to know if this cannot cause any problem in damaging the ports of other devices that are connect

It shouldn’t cause any problem with non-PoE devices because if you leave PoE configuration to AUTO there is no voltage present on the port until PoE negotiation is done and that negotiation is defined in 802.3at/af standards. But you must be careful, your device can output 24V as well so if you set port to always on it will output voltage and then there is possibility that you damage connected device.

So leave it on auto IMO.
