CCQ, Ack & NoiseFloor

I have a tower with 2 180 sectors, running on 801.11b with Atheros cards. It is a new setup so I only have 3 clients connected to the one sector, but they cannot get a solid ping. It will time out after each 5-15 pings and then carry on again between 5-40ms. All 3 clients are max 2km away.
In the Interface Status, I see:
Overall Tx-CCQ: 65-73%
Ack Timeout 408ms
Noise floor -100dBm

The Ack Timeout seems awefully long for such short links, although I’m not an expert… All settings are on default (TxPower, Ack-dynamic, etc.)

Is this normal, or what can I look at (physical or settings) to improve the stability of these clients? All my other towers are running fine.

Some other info: On the tower (close to the sea, about 30m high concrete water tower) are 6 other Cellphone towers & 2 radio + 1 security system radio. The cellphone equipment seems very high powered, so I’m wondering if it might be causing some problems for me.

Your CCQ should be close to 100%. Have you checked the spectrum or changed channels? Your noise floor seem low but you are getting problems from some where. Are you using a/b or g. If b you might have a reflection problem from the water tower depending on how you are mounted. If that is the case you may be able to just move the antenna a few feet or inches and get rid of the reflection.
