CCR/CRS for BGP 4Gb/s

Hi all,

i am looking for a BGR router HW. I want to route 2 Gb/s main line and 2Gb/s backup line with bgp. Will be any solution from Mikrotik Routerboard CCR or CRS a stable solution?
2Gb/s= 1 Gig full duplex

it means 2Gb/s (uplink) + 2 Gbps (uplink) + 4 Gb/s (routed downlink) = 8 Gb/s

Or just Use server XENON nased router?

Or forget anything about mikrotik and use Cisco L3 Switch???

W have around 6000 routes.

The CCR1036 will handle this Bandwith without Problems.

And will it be a stable solution?

Thanx

Hey David,

im using MT since nearly 1 Year in Production Enviroment, started with an RB Series and switched Q2 to CCR Series.
My CCR run always stable, twice Problems i had the last 12 Month. Have around 470k Prefixes with BGP, and it works
perfect.

  1. Problem with high value concurrent TCP Requests, was solved after 1 Week with Firmware Update.
  2. Problem with slow TCP Upload in Combination with Brocade Core-Switch, wasnt solved after 4 Month now,
we replaced the Brocade with an Juniper Switch. Now it works.

Overall im happy with Mikrotik. Good Job for a pretty good $$$ Value if you compare with Juniper or Cisco.
