CCR & MetaRouter

Hi,
Is it possible to create a meta router using v6rc11 on a CCR1016?
if not, will it be available in the future?

Regards

Dom

that feature currently is not available.

Is the feature currently being worked on?

I would be interested in that too.

we are working on this for multicore devices, but it takes some time

Very encouraging news.

+1.

+1 me interested too

normis, any news yet?

Hello,

i need this feature for a OVPN - Client with full certificate authentication. Any new plans / infos?

Thank you,

Bye, Tigerauge

@Normis can we help with beta testing, or are we not there yet?

we definitely are not there yet.

How about MetaRouter on the CCR with Docker containers?

Then I can run all my Telecoms switches in Docker containers on on 72 core CCR’s

Good bye x64 Servers !

yup. when MikroTik finish moving ROS to ZOL from mainstream/vanialla linux kernels - scalability and response of ROS will skyrocketing, for sure.

docker images please

Are there any news?

I think, news will be on March, 27th, at EU MUM

currently you can purchase TILE based servers from Tilera. If you go to their website they list a lot of options from PCIe cards to full servers with PCIe slots for IO cards. Currently their offering actually beats mikrotik in features as they come with the full compliment of features that the TILE CPUs themselves support such as PCIe x16 slot, SATA, etc.

They even have a 288 core TILE server consisting of 8 gx36 TILEs and with many 10Gb/s ports. You can than run any OS on them that can be compiled for their CPU.

Its what i really wanted to see from mikrotik. Routerboards with the full compliment of features that the CPUs support for additional expansions and such that would make their devices much more useful.

With metarouter you have to use an image that is compiled for the CPU as well.

Did you get a quote from Tilera?
One off’s start at $13k USD for a 36 core pci card and went up to $19k USD for the 72 core.
You also need a one off dev license of $12k USD.

For you to build your own system as a one off, you’re better sticking with off the shelf x86 I think.
