CCR temperature reading problem

Just noticed that one of my CCR’s (CCR1036-12G-4S) doesn’t display the temperature properly.

Basically got two exact same model CRRs on same firmware (3.39) and ROS 6.38.7 and the problematic one shows:

> system health pr
                    fan-mode: auto
                     use-fan: main
                  active-fan: main
          cpu-overtemp-check: yes
      cpu-overtemp-threshold: 100C
  cpu-overtemp-startup-delay: 1m
                     voltage: 24.2V
                     current: 1441mA
                 temperature: -45C
           power-consumption: 34.8W
                  fan1-speed: 3099RPM
                  fan2-speed: 3164RPM

The other that is working fine:

> system health print
                    fan-mode: auto
                     use-fan: main
                  active-fan: main
          cpu-overtemp-check: yes
      cpu-overtemp-threshold: 100C
  cpu-overtemp-startup-delay: 1m
                     voltage: 23.7V
                     current: 1249mA
                 temperature: 42C
             cpu-temperature: 53C
           power-consumption: 29.6W
                  fan1-speed: 3331RPM
                  fan2-speed: 3331RPM

Any ideas?
The problem was present on 6.37.5 as well.

Most probably some kind of hardware problem with temperature sensor.
I would suggest you to contact Mikrotik support or your distributor about RMA.

Warranty from the distributor is long since expired

Well, then try to visually inspect it and see if there is anything that looks suspicious at the PCB (leaked electrolytic capacitor could do further damage). If you’re not familiar with electronics take it to your local electronic repair shop for inspection.

As isolated component the temperature sensor isn’t so critical and it doesn’t mean that CCR will fail completely in near future but be prepared to replace it if that happens.

Good luck.
