First of all I would like to say that the current CCR lineup is amazing.
But I think there is a few changes that could be made to make the range more flexible.

CCR’s with higher port density would be nice, yes you can use the CRS series but the cpu isn’t powerful enough for routing/ospf. Maybe someting like a 1036-24G

sfp+ support. I think all CCR’s should support sfp+. The reasoning behind this goes hand in hand with the first one. Currently we are using a 1072 and 2x 1036 12g 4s bords for the core of the network. the 1036’s connect to the 1072 with fiber running at 1Gbps. All the ethernet ports on both 1036 boards is being used and the uplink to the 1072 is peaking at 980Mbps.
We could swop them out for 1036 8g 2s+, but then you lose 8 ethernet ports in total. -
10G rj45 ethernet support. Fiber is nice and all but very fragile. Had a few incidents where careless contractors working in the building damaged the fiber between the 1072 and 1036s.
