CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+ Not Working?

Hey Guys,

I got two of these devices (CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+) brand new out of the box. They’re both supposed to come with the typical MikroTik default IP “192.168.88.1”. That IP is nowhere to be found on either unit. I was unable to log into the web gui of either unit because of this. I attempted to console into these units at speeds of 9600 & 115000, but was also unsuccessful. My third attempt at solving these units was to manually create an address through the touchscreen of the unit. I was successful in creating an address on ETH 1, and then I was able to access the web gui of the unit. Once I tried to make any configuration changes to the unit, the address disappeared and I could no longer access the unit. Anyone have any advice on what to do next? Are these units DOA or is there a reason their config is different than the MikroTik’s I usually work with (RB2011UIAS-RM). Any help is appreciated!

The simple way - use winbox…

Ccr comes with blank configuration by default so use winbox over mac to get in.

So instead of using the devices IP to log in through winbox, use its MAC?

Right. Just plug a cable and check for neighbors within the winbox. Then double click on its mac to log in.

Thanks! I was able to get in and start configuring. Ever had trouble trying to enable VPN access on these devices? Every time I try to enable VPN access and hit apply configuration it goes back to being not enabled.

Hard to say. Maybe you are missing some related settings…
