CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ and UPS over serial

Hi All, looking for the benefit of someone elses superior knowledge

I am the proud new owner of a CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+

I’ve also just got an APC SMART-UPS SC 450

For some reason I connect see it in the CCR…

I can get to UPS from RB450G just fine and I can get to it from Windows over USB serial adapter.

I’m running v6.13.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

R

How is the UPS configured? Static IP, DHCP etc?

Hi, It’s pretty basic in that it just has serial connection.

Apologies if I was not clear, I am using the UPS package in RouterOS to monitor UPS status, via serial only.

Hi Rowan,

Have you turned off the virtual console using the serial port in /system console?

If the serial port is in use as a console port for the RouterBOARD then I dont think the UPS packet can use it.

Hi Joe,

I’ve tried a few combinations, as on the CCR there is console on Serial0, firstly i tried Serial1. No joy. So then i disabled the Console on Serial0 and added to that and still no joy.

So got to wondering whether it’s something to do with the architecture being different. MIPs vs Tile. Or just a bug.

Has anyone else successfully paired any UPS on the CCR?

Hi Rowan,

I am using the UPS package in RouterOS to monitor UPS status, via serial only.

As I am right informed there are two different protocols from APC to use their
USP devices, was both protocols completely translated and found their way in the
APC packages from MikroTik? Likes the former new RB2011 series, their was also
only one protocol inserted to use the APC UPS devices to monitor them.

By the way your question should be better placed inside this forum thread here:

It seems that there are more peoples sorted with a CCR and much more active employees
from MikroTik itselfs, only in my poor opinion.
