CCR1016-12G and routing DHCP

Hi, Just purchased a new CCR1016-12G and have started the process of configuring it to suit my networks needs. I have one WAN (ether1) and 8 DHCP devices (ether2-9).I have read that the CCR1016-12G does not have a switch chip, so all processed data requires more load on the CPU when bridging ports. My question is if I would see better performance routing DHCP through one port on the CCR and into a switch, or simply Bridge the 8 ports together (current configuration)?

Under interface list, ether2-9 I have the option to select the master, but when I query…

/interface ethernet print

…nothing shows up in the MASTER-PORT column.

Also, On the device above port 12 it says “POE/BOOT”… Does this imply that port 12 supports POE? I have not found any documentation that says anything about the label.

Any help is appreciated.

Matt

The CCR has enought CPU power to bridge the ports at wire speed, so I would just bridge them.
Since the CCR has no switch chip, changing the Master of a port doesn’t do anything.
The CCR can’t be powered via POE, the case has been labeled wrong.

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping that it was not to power the CCR, but provide power to wireless access points.
