Why you have set bridging if you want switching?
Because CCR don´t have switch chip
Hello honzam,
please download this white paper from Tilera white paper architecture and performance TILE-Gx and please go to page 15 there is something told about a Open vSwitch is this a virtual switch in your opinion too? Or what is it? ![]()
I´m talking about switch chip menu in winbox. Mayby tile gx architecture support it, but ROS not.
that is correct. You have to use bridge for that as CCR1016 does not have switch.
You are right with this for sure.
Might this bee a point to organize a real or better virtual switch insite of RouterOS fot TileGx?
If you need switch functionality, we have much lower cost device, the CRS series. Switching is wire speed, you don’t need powerful Tilera CPU to do this.
Ah ok now all is clear, thank you for the fast replay normis!
Hello Normis, but do you have a switch with 12 SFP ports? It’s very usefull for us.
Thanks
Why they should fiddle out each existing device new!?
The entire CRS Series is not long existing on the market and to start with
niche serving products would not speed up the entire sales, and if enough
peoples are asking for they will do it as I see it right.
If it is really urgent, you can go with this product here, the NETGEAR ProSafe GSM7212F
for 650 €, it comes with 12 SFP port and 12 copper ports, so you will be sorted and able
to work. I write this because the next one needs such a Switch only with 4 SFP+ Ports
and the next one asks for 48 SFP+ Ports and MikroTik should than jump in and fiddle out
all this devices?
