CCR1016-12S-1S+ Single Mode 1.25G SFP Problems (S-31DLC20D)

Hi All,

I have two CCR1016-12-1S+, I have successfully utilized on the CCR’s without problems Mikrotik 10G SFP+ using both single mode (S+31DLC10D) and multimode (S+85DLC03D) SFP/fibers. I have also successfully used 1G multimode (S-85DLC05D) from one of the CCR1016-12-1S+ to several NetMetal5 (with several runs well exceeding 550m without problems [Limitations of Existing Infrastructure] ). However I cannot get a network link through a S-31DLC20D Single Mode SFP between the cloud core routers. But the SFP’s do tell me the RX loss (-5dBm) etc with zero problems.

Prior to Friday afternoon I had a working 1G SFP link using S-31DLC20D on the CCR to a Hirschmann MACH 1040 with a finisar 20km 1310nm SFP. I have not been able to get that link or any other 1G single mode link up since. Even Mikrotik to Mikrotik short patch cable, but 10Gbps SFP+ still work and the RJ47 SFP. I also cannot get a CISCO SFP to start the link.

In an attempt to troubleshoot the problems I have:

  1. Restored Both CCR to empty config and added a single bridge (Virtual Fiber Switch)
  2. Tried a Firmware/ Version Upgrade 6.22 to 6.24
  3. Tested Other S-85DLC05D (I have about 6 spare) in multiple cages (No Luck)
  4. Forced 1Gbps (Auto-Negotiate off) Nomis suggestion on other forum posts (Still No Link).
  5. Proved both SFP+ modules continue to work,
  6. Proved the RJ45 SFP works in a combination of SFP cages (I don’t have any 1G MM SFP Not in production (On Order))
  7. Tried CISCO 1.25G SFP LX Module (Could not get it to work)

Has anyone else had similar problems and how did you manage to fix it? If extra information or tests are required let me know and I will be happy to gather the information/test details.

Thanks,
