I have what I believe to be a very silly question for the use of my CCR016-12-1S+ as I should have at least a basic understanding of the hardware.
Let me start by telling you what I’d like to achieve. Essentially I would like to use the first 4 SFP ports as a “switch” with the first port being the WAN in from a GPON and then connecting 3 routers to ports 2,3 and 4. I’d then like to use the remaining SFPs in a LAN bridge.
Currently I do not have any static IPs, everything is dynamic and I am awarded 4 IPs from my ISP through DHCP. I’d like the 3 routers to recieve IPs from the ISP via DHCP as well as having the CCR recieve an IP to provide the gateway to my LAN bridge.
If I make a WAN bridge and a LAN bridge I thought this would automagically work but the 3 other routers will not pull IPs so I suspect something is wrong with my configuration. So what I use now is a switch from the GPON a RB260GSP which connects to my CCR1016, USG-4 and the cheep actiontec router that provides IPTV which all seems to work, everything grabs IPs.
