CCR1036-8G-2S+ microsd slot not working

Hi i cant seem to get any microsd card detected by my CCR router. I need microSD functionality for backups and graph storage. I have tried various microSD cards both fast and slow and none of them appear on the router. I tested a usb drive and it worked but is not practical since it is very easy to disconnect. I used the same microSD card on an RB450G and it worked fine. Is there any fix for this issue or is the slot just for show?

Is it possible to attach an external hard drive via usb?

RouterOS v6.20 has a software bug, that doesn’t allow RouterOS to see microSD cards. Try RouterOS v6.21RC:

Thanks normis, I’ve just updated it. I lost a number of packages from the 6.20 that i used normally such as NTP server.

microsd functionality barely works. It appeared for a few seconds under disks than disappeared again. When i tried to format it to ext3 it said couldnt start, object doesnt exist. I will try fiddling around later to get it to work. I will also test hard drives later. Does routerOS support NTFS read or does it need to be ext3 or fat32 formatted? What filesystems aside from fat32 and ext3 does routerOS work with? Does it support a usb hub?

Normis, i would like scripts to be able to run on multiple cores because i rely a lot on scripts for maintaining my cluster. I use the CCR not only for routing, firewall and a lot of additional network stuff but also to maintain all devices i connect to my network such as hardware monitoring and control which is necessary when overclocking a small GPGPU cluster as far as possible. Would it also be possible to add more frequencies to the CCR as well? So far im impressed at the performance of the cooling system on the CCR after running the CPU at 100% for a while but i think it could use fans for the PSU as well. I’ve seen some additional unused fan connectors on the board. Im hoping the PSU can handle more watts since i may actually try hacking the system package to add some more frequencies.

It seems that i have to reboot the CCR with the microsd card in place. It doesnt support adding new cards while it is booted up. It is also impossible to format the card because of this since it will ask to be ejected first to be formatted which will cause it to be lost to the disks utility. I also was not able to access the card from Files or any other part of routerOS to make use of it even if it could be seen under disks and the folder visible under files. I couldnt navigate into the micro-sd folder from Files or FTP and kept giving errors.
