The Revision 3 of the CCR1036-8G-2S+ has an upgraded PSU.
Its internal DC voltage is 12V.
The older models are on 24V.

I am replacing an older model with this R3 version.
All my previous CCR1036 routers are custom modified and are powered by an external 24V (2 x 12V, 12Ah batteries) DC UPS system…
Question: does this newer model also support powering on 24V or is it strictly 12V only…?

Wich is the difference between R2 and R3 ? Apart from the voltage?

Do not power it with 24V, you’ll destroy the thing. Use a DC-DC step-down converter like e.g. the Meanwell DDR-60G-12.
