I was wondering if any one else is running into the 1Gb/s limit on a single tcp stream. Last time I investigated it was because of the cpu / tcp stream limit … I believe.
Any one know if this is going to be lifted in future software releases or is this going to be a hardware limit.
NOTE - i have pushed this faster then 1 Gb/s in total throughput, but not for a single tcp stream

One stream can only be handled by one core at the same time and the limit on one core is around 1 Gb/s with 1,2ghz
In an typical enviroment, you have many streams and its more about packets/s and this is handled really well on multicore tilera.
If you route/bridge nfs/iscsi or use vmotion to move vm’s around, it’s not working so well.
Yep thats my problem.
I rather annoyed that wasn’t put in the advertisement. 28Gb/s routing it what has advertised.
I like them, and they are great for what they do, but this limitation is not good,
