CCR1036 inter-vlan routing performance issue

Hello,

we bought new CCR1036 (new revised version). We facing issue with inter-vlan routing performance. We have connected trought two spf+ VLAN trunk from switches. When we need route between two VLANs, we are able measure throughput speed only around 600mbit (measured by iperf) (speed within one vlan only through L2 via switches is around 9gbit).

In profile we can see max load around 60% on one cpu. So router is not overloaded with this traffic, but throughput is very low.

Network security in GDPR time is required, we need divide network into VLANs and route between them with active firewall.

Any idea, if is possible reach better performance, how bring up more cores for inter-vlan routing?

I’m afraid you’re hitting the ceiling for single-connection throughput. Routing is single core per connection. If you’ll test multiple parallel connections (e.g. 10), router will use more cores and cumulative throughput will be better.
