CCR1072 - 10gbps issues

Guys,

I am posting here as well as contacting support.

We are trying to upgrade from 1gbps to 10gbps on a port with a dual mode SFP+ module and the link will not come up on 10gbps to the provider. The link works perfectly on 1gbps however will not link up when hard set is changed from 1gbps to 10gbps.

Is there any debug functions in the Mikrotik to show errors that might show the error? The providers equipment is provided by Extreme Networks.

While in 10gbps mode TX & RX are showing the correct levels etc.

That does look weird. Maybe they put the wrong module on the wrong ports? Have you double check your devices?

Checking onsite tomorrow however all of our modules are 1/10gbps and generally the Mikrotik would complain if it could not set the selected speed.

Might sound silly but verify the wavelength the provider is using. A 1310 light will be seen by a 850 SFP and vice versa. Of course, they won’t link up.
