CCR1072 and 1036 using FICON protocal on SFP

Trying to connect to a fiber circuit that is using the FICON protocol on a Mikrotik 1072 and 1036. SFPs that were purchased do not appear to be compatible or something with the routers themselves are not compatible… Any feedback or suggestions on how to get this to work?

SFPs are from Fiberstore.com and work with every other setup we’ve tried using

I would assume that you are using one of the supported modules?
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Peripherals

If so you should email support to see if they have suggestions. If its not on the list perhaps they do not yet support it. Either way you should probably email support.

If by FICON you mean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FICON, then bad news: FICON isn’t IP over ethernet. MikroTik devices don’t speak Fibre Channel, and they don’t speak FICON.

Maybe either the MikroTik devices or the SFP+ modules cannot support FICON. You’d better contact tech support from the two vendors for solution. I had the experience to ask for advice from Fiberstore tech team. The response is lightning fast and professional.
