CCR1072 - M.2 SSD compatibility

Howdy folks!

Tinkering with my 1072 here, and just put in a SanDisk 1TB SSD in the M.2 slot 0. The PCI sections in winbox seem to indicate it’s “there”, but unusable. I have already made a supout file, do you guys want it? Would looooove this to work soon.

Thanks!

You can see in the brochure, that it only supports PCIe modules in this slot:

2x M.2 slots with x4 PCIE 2.0, Key-M, module size support: 2242,2260,2280

All of those Sandisks are not PCIe, they are SATA modules:

You can check this article about the different modules:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2977024/storage/m2-ssd-roundup-tiny-drives-deliver-huge-performance.html

its possible to connect sata usb drive or hard drive

in 1072 with any extension slot or flex cable

yes, you can connect USB drive, because the device has USB ports. You can use the drive for some features, like proxy or logs.

Supports PCIe module with AHCI command-set or NVMe (or both)?

Any updates?

Seems most PCIe M2 SSDs nowadays are PCIe3.0x4
Also, since I’m not very familar with M2 SSDs, they seem to be available in AHCI and NVMe version.

I can’t find a list of verified/working/compatible SSD’s.

Since the CCR1072 has 2 slots: Is it possible to run the SSDs in RAID, or are they only available as 2 seperate disks?

Excellent timing

next RC changelog:

*) disk - added initial support for NVMe SSD disk drives;

Not kidding

greetings
I installed a crucial mx300 275gb m2 ssd on ccr1072, i’m having the same problem, it seems ccr1072 does not support pci-e 3.0 ssd.
is there any way to work around this problem? or must I change the ssd to another one that is compatible with ccr1072?
is there any list for supported ssd for ccr1072?

Any updates?

That Crucial disk is not PCI, it is a SATA SSD, which is not supported on the CCR1072:

thank’s for reply normis

can you gave me a list with supported M.2 SSD

and can i install Plextor PX-128M8PeG (w/heatsink) 128GB M.2 (PCI-e 3.0 x4) on CCR1072

Update

I have installed Plextor M8PeGN Pci-e 3.0 and it works ,

I set a datapath for user-man on it but its very very slow

I Have an SATA SSD Extrnal HDD and set the data path for UM on it and still slow Not like the normal speed for an SSD OR M.2 SSD Both in ( ext3 ) file format

Any help

how did you measure “slow”?

normis do you find it more reliable to run user manager in AWS CHR (licence level free ) and make a tunnel for radius requests? or better local at a usb flash drive?
i want to be sure that there are no power outages that can corrupt user manager database .

slow while the any process Like Delete users ( Deleting 2K User every day ) Rebuilding Data Base and Generating Users

this btest to local loop_back bridge the real speed of M.2 SDD

Any news about a list of verified/working/compatible SSD’s. ?
Or at least hardware specifications ?

I install a M2.2280 XPG SX8200 Pro, NVMe 1.3, PCIe Gen3x4 SSD on a latest CCR1072-1G-8S+ (6.46.7 LTS) without success.

It didn’t show in disk list.

Thanks

It would be great if we put supported SSDs in the compatibility list
