What is difference among CCR2004-16G-2S+ and CCR2004-16G-2S+PC other than later has cooler fan?
Is that fan essential difference?

Yes, because for work correctly on passive cooler, the CPU is underclocked.
So among those two CCR2004-16G-2S+ is generally better choice? I like passive cooling but that is not critical for decision.
May I have liberty to ask about comparision with CCR1016-12G? It has a lot more cores, but slightly slower CPU and less RAM than CCR2004-16G-2S+. Targeted purpose is handling two internet links, queues, NAT, lots of firewall rules,

That does not concern me, just networking capabilities, so right now doubt is among CCR2004-16G-2S+ and CCR1016-12G.
CCR1016-12G has even less features bud 16 cores. I have no experience when number of cores matters more than clock speed or memory.
Better 1.700,00€ 4 times, or 1.200,00€ 16 times?

But if you can receive only 1 time the money, you choice only 1 time 1700 or 1 time 1200?
The problem is what you need to do with that device.
If the operation you need can’t be done by multicore, better the faster with less cores.
Notice: the CCR1016 do not have any SFP port.
